Provide targeted and personalised care and support

Ryvere Homes is an innovative new supported accommodation service providing support to indigenous and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children aged16+. It is set up to provide tailored and flexible support to young people transiting to adulthood and those who still need additional support and care. Our aim is to provide targeted and personalised care and support in a supported accommodation to vulnerable young people (age 16+) particularly those with complex and high support needs. We believe passionately that every young person has the potential to realise their abilities and aspirations, and with the right support and care they can achieve successful outcomes for their lives while learning to live independently.

Our aim and objective

AIMS

Ryvere Homes main aims are to provide an appropriate placement where each child can:

  • Experience a stable, secure and nurturing environment.
  • Through individual work, address his/her core issues, difficulties and challenges.
  • Develop a sense of self and the ability to express his/her feelings in an appropriate manner.
  • Promote through positive experiences a sense of one’s self and others.
  • Begin to develop the necessary skills for normal healthy physical and emotional growth
  • Be encouraged to attend and maintain a full-time school placement as appropriate depending on the child’s needs or within the mainstream educational system.
  • Experience the fun of play and being a child.
  • Come to terms with and cope with the reality of their experiences.
  • Learn to respect everyone is different regardless of orientations, sexuality, racial, cultural, religious, and linguistic differences.

OBJECTIVES

Ryvere Homes main objectives for the children in their care are to:

  • Enable a child to make sense of his/her personal history through life-story works, reflective sessions, etc.
  • Develop within themselves a sense of safety and feeling emotionally resilience when in the ‘home’ environment.
  • Enable children to maintain their own boundaries that will promote their functioning in a more integrated way.
  • Enable the children to form and sustain positive attachments that aid them to function socially in a family and wider community setting.
  • Ensure that they have received a good education and life skills that will develop their cognitive abilities.
  • To encourage each child to reach their full potential developing whatever skills or talents they may have.
  • Develop an inclusive approach to partnership parenting, which includes birth/adoptive families and local authority staff.
  • To train and coach identified families to work alongside the child in the home before being placed with the family.
